In this particular instance, the showcase directed us to build a bat. We’re in a cave, that’s where bats live, build a bat. What a bat is, though, is designed by you."

Showcase

Showcases were brick platforms on the ground around LEGO Universe that functioned as early properties. They were originally in Alpha and early Beta, and were removed on March 25th, 2010 Showcases were designed to show off player creations and ideas, each model had to be approved by the Mythran before it could appear to other players.
